At NOK, we take the time to build deep relationships, and we value teamwork. We recognise that effective teams are characterised by clearly defined responsibilities, a shared commitment to collaboration and open communication, and a common vision of the goals to be achieved. We take seriously each person’s need to understand their particular role and responsibility so they can function effectively in our community.

Our Commitment to You

We will:

• Be a lead learner alongside children

• Create conditions that scaffold children’s individual learning

• Meet the needs of every child

• Form a team focused on the needs and education of each child, including the child and their family

• Lead in the never-ending process of understanding how each child learns

• Advocating for the children

• Be on the child’s side, no matter what

• Make all of the above obvious to everyone

Your Commitment to Us

You will:

• Support NOK’s ethos by modelling respectful interactions for your child

• Work in partnership with your child’s teachers and practitioners

• Provide appropriate work/play clothes and shoes — NOK children get very messy and play outside in all weather

• Model for your child how to respect him or herself and others

• Address concerns immediately and directly with people involved

• Parents and caregivers are a child's first teachers. We ask you to support our community with your time and talents each term. We value your partnership and will provide many ways for you to connect with us.
